When I left my family to work abroad, I wanted to give them a better life. Life was a bit difficult in the Philippines. My quest for happiness was to bring them comfort and joy. As long as my family is happy, I am happy because I have achieved my goal.
What brings joy to my life here in Hong Kong is talking to my husband, children and grandchild through video calls every day. This has also alleviated my homesickness.
I also have a ward, Prisca, who is so sweet and charming. Playing with her make me happy too.
On Sundays, I enjoy being in the company of my group, the Catholic Migrant Community at St Alfred’s Church. Happiness is a choice that we make. I am happy and grateful to God for all the blessings he has given me.
