The diocese set up the Preparatory Committee for the Celebration of the Ordinary Jubilee 2025 and of the 80th Anniversary of the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong to coordinate various diocesan bureaux and communities in organising formation and activities connected to the jubilee and the anniversary celebrations and to reach out to the community, to walk with the disadvantaged groups, to be signs of hope and to stand shoulder to shoulder with society.
The theme of the jubilee celebration, which runs from December 24 to 6 January 2026, is “Pilgrims of Hope”.
In response to the recommendations of Spes non Confundit [Hope does note disappoint], the Bull of Indiction invioking the jubilee year, the diocese designated eight special areas of concern: the elderly, prisoners, 3, children and families, youth, medical staff and the sick, Creation, immigrants and refugees, and the poor.
