To celebrate and honour Mother Mary is to call upon her name. She never stops caring, loving, and praying for us. Month of May provides an opportunity to gather to pray the Rosary. Come to Mary- and trust that She will lead us to Jesus. (Lucy Rebuyas who portrays Birhen Sa Barangay)
Reflecting on the life of Mary inspires us to emulate her virtues of humility, faith, and obedience to God’s will. The culmination prayer we had was a time to renew devotion to her. Mary is a perfect disciple and a source of comfort and guidance to all who turn to her in prayer. That is all I feel, especially when I reflect on what happened in Kibeho, Rwanda. (Weng Orap, English Community Coordinator)
Maria, Ina Ko, helped me realize that Mama Mary is not just the Mother of Jesus. She is also our spiritual mother. Through the Culmination Prayer, she can teach us how to have a deeper relationship with Jesus in our daily lives despite all the suffering & trials we encounter. Mama Mary loves each of us in a special way that even up to this time she makes apparitions, bringing messages around the world to keep us safe & remind us of God’s Love. (Gene Petis, Community Secretary)
Our dedication and hard work really paid off in making the month-long Maria, Ina Ko a resounding success. My personal investment of time and resources, especially in sourcing the costumes and statue from the Philippines, added a meaningful touch to this momentous occasion. Thank you to everyone involved for their commitment in portraying the Birhen sa Barangay and making it meaningful.

To be chosen to represent Our Lady of Aparecida is an opportunity of a lifetime. I will always cherish it. I was scared and excited at the same time. But when I reflected on Mama Mary’s life, she had to say “yes” to becoming the Mother of God. She had to let go of her plans and let God take over her life. Mama Mary’s essential virtue was total, complete and eternal surrender to God’s will. (Marie June Manero, who portrays Our Lady of Aparecida)
