Extraordinary comes from ordinary things and people.
Just like the story of Jesus. His life did not stay simple and ordinary but grew up in might, power and wisdom and took up greater things for the kingdom of God. He started his public ministry and called his first disciples to be with him in his works and mission to witness his miracles; curing the sick. He made the blind see, raised the dead, the lame walked, the mute speak and converted sinners and even to the point of Jesus’ agonies, suffering and death. Despite their failings, Jesus sees their hearts not their weakness.
Sometimes we feel that life is ordinary, without much hustle and bustle, or heavy dramas, and we feel just cool and calm. Everything around is just bright and beautiful. We just enjoy every moment of it. It is the grace of God.Once in a while we deserve some breaks and be relaxed from all the chaos and problems that surrounds us. This is the time we can say life is kind, there is silence amidst the noise. We let the soft prompting speaks in our hearts.
And we will realise how blessed we are despite our unworthiness because God sees through the heart and not our failings. We will see the many favours we received over and even the ordinary things in life that oftentimes we just take for granted.
God called the ordinary people like his disciples who have nothing to boast at all. But finally they became somebody in building God’s kingdom. From being simple and ordinary, God can make beautiful and amazing things. God’s strength is revealed in the weak, the poor, the simple and the little ones. We cannot belittle the ordinary because from there, God’s greatness is revealed.
God’s wisdom is unfathomable. He works in many mysterious ways. We may learn to appreciate the ordinary things in life because sometimes the unnoticed or even the rejected might be the real substance for God’s kingdom.
