Hunger

Can you feel God with an empty stomach
It’s a test so divine
We might be satiated with food
But spiritually we are deprived.

Whatever religion we have
We all crave for the love of God
Yes we are hungry for his love
His mercy is our sustenance to survive. 

Hunger is not just for what we consume
We are hungry sometimes for love
Our physical being maybe well fed
We are famished for attention and care. 

Open palms we beg for earthly sustenance
What we need more is a heavenly one
Satiated and feeling full
Feeling of emptiness in our soul. 

I am hungry, feed me
What I need is food for my soul
Feed me with the holy words of God
Let me be blessed by his words.

Grace from the Lord will
satisfy our needs
Spiritual food that 
will cleanse us pure
Coming from the table of the Lord
Hallow words that will fill our spiritual hunger.
