Ways to give joy and hope to people around me

I wll let people around me to know that there is hope for all of us. I share joy and laughter to my family members, relatives, friends and co-workers, encouraging them when others have problems. I will try to ease the pain that they are having in their hearts, showing them that there is no problem, that has no solution. That everything happens for a reason. And that nothing is impossible with God. All things are made possible with him. I will show others that we must not despair and that being hopeful is a virtue. When we are hopeful then there is joy in our hearts.

Experience has taught me the significance of effective communication of joy and hope with the people around me. It does not have to be unduly lengthy or accentuated with dramatic languages, but rather a positive language which shows understanding, the objective opinion and openness as the people around me, specially if you are a Servant of God. Most of the time I commmunicate with people through body language. A simple, Hi, Hello and a smile on my face will give them a gesture of positivity of joy, happiness and hope, for hope is from God above. Actually I am a friendly person I like to cheer people in many ways. I let them know and feel how precious they are to me as I believe we are created in the image of God. Giving them a moment of time, share with them the gifts of friendship. Encourage them to share their talents too. Because I know that God has gifts of talents for each and everyone of us. By doing so, I am pretty sure that the grace of the Lord will shower upon us and will inspire us to serve him and others too. It motivates me to sanctify myself. I remember I caught some verses from the Bible that says, “…whatever you did for one of the least of those brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me too” (Matthew 25:40). This is what inspires me.

During Christmas season, the hope and joy must be communicated to people around us. The hope and joy that the Messiah came as a baby to bring hope to people especially those marginalized in the society. I, on my part, is a joyful person and I love to share my joy through giving testimony of God’s goodness to me, making those people who are in difficult situations know and feel the love of God by being hopeful and joyful.

By talking to them, with positive vibes and funny things. Giving presence is also one of my ways to make people around me happy. For those feeling desperate I do my best to give them encouragement by giving advice so that they have hope.

All of what I have mentioned are material things in this world. The most powerful thing that will bring us happiness and hope is the Lord, who if we believe and have faith in him, everything will be there. Not only happiness and hope, but also love. If we have love for each other, we will definitely be happy and always have hope.

Communicating joy and hope to the people around me is not easy especially during this time when I am undergoing difficult circumstance myself. As a practicing Catholic, my faith in Jesus compels me to be a beacon of hope and joy to those around me no matter what. I was able to set an example to my friends despite of difficulties by never loosing hope and joy because God is always here for us and in Nehemiah 8:10, it is written, “Rejoicing in the Lord will be your strength.”

The fact that communicating the joy and hope to the people surrounding me isn’t easy. It is a kind of a process of being free from deep within, to say yes to love and no to sin of unforgiveness. There are times we do good but yet rejected by someone who is rude and tough. This does not deter my intention to do good. Perseverance of doing good has always bore a fruit of love and compassion for the people. The feeling of inner joy when I do good to others comes from within me. I have come to realise that joy has always been a fruit of love. Generosity of heart and giving offers long-lasting happiness, purpose, and fulfillment.
