Death will surely come to all. So while I am still alive, I prepare myself by praying, repentance and doing good to others. I have confidence in the mercy and forgiveness of God. God will never abandon us at the end of our life. But we have to do good in this lifetime, and obey his will upon us.
— Romualda Bais

Death is unavoidable. I believe many, including myself, are afraid to die. It is like a feeling of passing on to an unknown. The best way to prepare for death is to continue to work for my salvation. So while I am still alive by God’s grace I will be able to prepare for my next journey hopefully to be dwelling in heaven. For now we are all transients or pilgrims.

Death is truly an inevitable thing that could happen anytime and anywhere. This is one thing that I should always be aware of. It is important to nourish my spiritual life and I do that by attending Mass, going to confession and receiving the Eucharist. I try my best to obey the Commandments of God and the teachings of the Church. I also have my ups and downs in life. Daily prayers help me a lot. My life is a borrowed one and I am always prepared to return it. I am not afraid when that time comes to meet and join my Creator.

Most of us like to think we’re in control of our life. We’re able to make choices and decisions and take responsibility. But we will all die one day, and if we are prepared for our own death simply by doing the will of God, we can be ready for an end of life filled with peace. There is nothing to be afraid of facing death. Jesus is with us every step of the way, and God’s mercy is greater than we can imagine. Our loved ones will stay behind, but Jesus will accompany us even beyond the threshold of death, where our Creator is waiting for us.

Life is unpredictable and it’s never too early in planning for death. Preparing for death doesn’t have to be a difficult process. However, it’s a part of our lives. We may need to take the right preparatory steps so that our mind will be at ease at the time of our passing and it will also ease the tensions of our loved ones. Keeping God’s commandments in our hearts and showing faith in our daily lives as Christians is the best way of living and we have no reason to be afraid to die.

Death is simply a natural part of life and something which is out of our control. For me accepting death or not to fear on it helps me live better and do good for my fellow men. I always believe that it is important to do good deeds for heavenly sake rather than earthly pursuits. Through prayers I can also overcome the fears of death. As the Bible says in Matthew 10:28, “And do not fear those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
— Amie Reyes

As mentioned in the Book of Ecclesiates 3:1-2, everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses. He sets the time for birth and the time for death.
Since death is like a thief that comes in unexpected time, every day, as I breathe, should be dealt with as a day of being awake and ready. I need to make sure I am on the right path, doing the right thing so that when death comes, I will have no regret.
— Father Antonio Ruyan, Diocese of Nueva Segovia

I believe my life belongs to God, who is our Creator, and I just borrowed it from him. Only God knows when He will take it back from me. It is true death is inevitable. Living a life here on earth that pleases God is the best way of preparing for death. For me, I don’t need to be afraid to die, Jesus has promised us everlasting life. Let this plan give us peace about our victory over death, the reality of heaven and what is in store for us when we leave this earth.
