
Chancery Notice – Fund-raising for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria
Two devastating earthquakes hit southern Turkey and northern Syria on 6 February have caused widespread destruction and left thousands dead and injured. Many people are still trapped under the rubble, waiting to be rescued. As an expression of our solidarity with the victims and the relief workers, Bishop Stephen CHOW, S.J., is asking the faithful to offer special prayers for them. In support of the emergency relief, parishes are to take up a second collection during Mass on 12 February (Sunday). The relief funds so collected should be sent, through crossed cheques made payable to “Caritas-Hong Kong” (with indication “Emergency Response to Turkey and Syria Earthquake” at the back), to the Accounts Office, Caritas-Hong Kong, Room 407, Caritas House, 2 Caine Road, Hong Kong.
Other donors can send their donations to Caritas-Hong Kong through the following channels:
I. By Crossed Cheques
Cheques to be handled as in the case of parishes, as indicated above.
II. By Direct Bank-in
