Liturgical Bible study as preparation for Mass
Certificates were given out to the 36 participants at the end of the seminar.

The chaplaincy to the Filipino migrants conducted a Liturgical Bible Study Facilitator’s Training Seminar on September 25 and October 2 at the Bayanihan Centre, Kennedy Town. The seminar was organised in cooperation with the Missionary Families of Christ in Hong Kong, a Philippine-based Catholic charismatic lay community

Ian Bautista of the Missionary Families of Christ was the main speaker with the assistance of other members. The group has been generous in extending their ministry to all communities who are willing to be committed to the ministry of the Church and their relationship with the Lord.

The training seminar was designed by Divine Word missionary Father Arlo Bernardo Yap in 2000 after finishing his four-month Biblical-pastoral course in Rome. It aims at using the readings for the coming Sunday Mass to make preparations for Mass. It is meant to inspire every faithful to be closer to God in the celebration of the Eucharist, to build a community in love with the scriptures and develop a culture of bonding.

Father Yap is presently assigned as biblical coordinator of Philippine Central Province for Biblical Apostolate and Social Communications of the Society of the Divine Word.

Certificates were given out to the 36 participants who successfully completed the training. They are encouraged to form small groups in their communities and conduct regular liturgical Bible studies.
