Claretian website spreads the Word

HONG KONG (SE): The Claretian Publishing Group—the scriptural arm of the 172-year-old missionary congregation famed for its evangelism—has consolidated its online presence with the launch of the website claretonline.org. The new website was launched on July 16 by superior general, Father Mathew Vattamattan, and brings together the catalogs of 11 publishing operations from as far afield as India, Brazil and Tanzania.

It can be navigated in English, Chinese and Spanish, while Portuguese and French versions of the site are in the pipeline.

A statement from the Claretians says: “The website’s purpose is to establish common visibility, highlighting the Bible Diary, published in 27 languages and [selling] more than one million copies every year, as the signature product of the Claretians.”

There are almost 30 free e-books promoted on the site, as well as dozens of theological works for sale, links to videos and Catholic articles, and to Bible study videos by Father Claudio Doglio of the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy.

Drop-down menus link to the Daily Gospel in several languages, as well as the Daily Liturgy, Sunday commentaries and video resources by prominent Claretians.

The websites of the individual Claretian publishing houses can also be easily accessed.

According to the Claretian statement, the new site will “build a collective clientele base to benefit from all the available resources” produced by the Claretians over the years.
