Time flies really fast. It feels only the other day that we celebrated New Year but even before we realise it we are in first quarter of the year.
I never thought I could get out of 2020 alive for all the not so good happenings, for the many challenges of last year… but thank God I am still breathing.
I thank God for the gift of 2021 for the chances he reserves for me to love and serve him in any way I can. I still have many things to do not just for myself but for the glory of God. We allow God to work for the things we cannot control in life.
God never sleeps. In this trying times, he hears the cry of his people. I specially pray for the health of people and that life be back to normal; that there will be no more facemasks and face shields as they add discomfort to our breathing; no more travel restrictions so that we can go from place to place and simply enjoy being alive; no more fear for the virus as we hug and kiss our loved ones; no more social distancing and we can freely enjoy the company of one another. Now we cannot even recognise the people behind the masks. It seems that we are all strangers.
We are all in distress with this long pandemic. It is not over yet but here comes another threat—the new variant of corona virus believed to be more serious and scary. When will this suffering end? We pray the soonest possible.
Somehow we are happy to know that through the help of science and medical experts they have already discovered vaccine to fight against the deadly virus. But there are fears and hesitations for some people to receive vaccine. Who shall we trust these days? We are dealing not only with fear of the virus but also confusion.
Lord, in you alone is our comfort and strength. Increase our faith in doubts and confusions. Strengthen us in time of distress. Teach us Lord to love more. Give us the grace of forgiving hearts, serenity and calmness in times of troubles. Guide our ways Lord to your ways. Comfort those who lost loved ones. Help the sick to restore health. Help us to soar high above human sufferings. We also pray to enlighten the minds of all leaders to embrace fair governance.
Lord, strengthen also the faith of Church in this trying time. Encourage us to work for the Gospel. May our work always please your holy name. This is our prayer. Lord, please hear us. Amen.
