Investment plans are important but before I make any I need to pay my loans, save a sum for emergency and pay the collateral for a rice field I pawned. I need the field as it can help me earn money if the weather allows rice to grow. And soon my capital will come back to me for investment. But the most important thing is to be really well-versed in the investment before jumping in. Do not easily trust others because nowadays there are plenty of scammers. Personally I think I will invest in bonds as the bank interest is low now, which will push the price of the bonds up.

We need to plant crops to generate cash to sustain our livelihood. I think integrated farming is good. Our family have 14 hectares of land partially planted with paper tree and tropical fruits like durian, mangosteen, lanzones, rambutan, pomelo, mango, etc. I am also saving to invest on vegetable farming because fruit trees are seasonal and we cannot depend on fruits for our daily needs. It is a simple investment supported by my remittances.

I bought some shares in international companies. I do not invest a big amount. I am reallly careful in my investments because there are scams. So far the shares I bought have profited and added to our income. Aside from this my husband and I have a car-renting business which is doing well. At least this business can generate our income so when I return home for good. I do not have much to worry.

I have invested in buying pigs. I have six and I gave one to my sister. We will have the female pig mated so that we can have piglets and sell them. As for the remaining four, I will sell them to a good buyer. At least through my small investment, I am able to augment the income of my family. I am happy already if I can get back my capital with a little profit. At present I am saving part of my salary for other investment.

We have raised some livestocks. From the mother pig, we have some piglets which we can sell later. I have a plan to set up a small farm raising some other livestocks like goats, a cow, ducklings and native chickens, and we will feed them with only grass. My husband and I thought of this idea when I return home in April. I also plan to buy a cottage to run a small store. My daughter-in-law is supportive of my plans. We believe that by thinking of ways to increase our income, we will not experience hunger even we are not rich.
