Appeal from the Colloquium of Six Religious Leaders of Hong Kong regarding the outbreak of novel coronavirus

With the speedy dispersion of coronavirus confirmed case in July, much disturbance has caused to the government, society and the general public. In time of difficulties, the Colloquium of Six Religious Leaders of Hong Kong sincerely extend our blessing to people of Hong Kong to keep peace in mind and make the following appeals with benevolence and concern:

1 Let us join hands to follow the advice from the government and medical experts: pay attention to personal hygiene, upkeep environmental cleanliness, reduce social contact and avoid large-scale gathering.

2. Extend our care and concern to our family, relatives and neighborhood; offer assistance to the needy, especially the elderly and the poor, and refer them for assistance by social service organizations if necessary.

3. Take care of own physical and psychological well-being while keeping faith and confidence. Let our mind be with peace and harmony and extend blessings to people around.

4. Dedicate care and blessings to front-line health-care staff, medical experts, and people serving the public for their efforts in combating the epidemic.

We sincerely wish that we can overcome the epidemic and vaccine can be developed. Let’s have faith and belief that the economy can be rebuilt and people’s living can be improved and resumed to normal with everyone’s joint effort to fight the virus.
