G loria Molo, a supportive member of Simbayanan-KAMMPI since it was set up in 1999, passed away in the Philippines on June 10. She was also one of the leaders who started the Sacred Heart Cannossian Community and a volunteer of the Filipino Migrants Cancer and Support Services and many other groups. She returned home in 2018 after working in Hong Kong for two decades.
Community members in Hong Kong mourned over the loss of their long time friend. Connie Padilla, an office bearer of the KAMMPI said she will always miss Molo and remembered her as a supportive leader who always lent her helping hand in all activites of the group.
Rosemarie Salvador, coordinator of Sacred Heart Cannosian Community, recalled that Molo started the group in 2004 and was a kind and responsible coordinator for six years from 2011 to 2017. “She accomplished many good things in life. She worked hard and always followed the path of an honest servant of God. She was always with us in good times and in bad times. Death may have taken her away from us but it can never take our memory away. She is always in our hearts.”
Josie Congson, assistant coordinator of the group said she could never forget the kindness of Molo as she would not hesitate to help the terminated workers even though they lived far away. She also recalled that Molo often also visited people in hospital with a kind heart and brought them their necessities.
The Sunday Examiner would like to offer its condolences to the family of the good community leader. May she rest in peace. SE
