Rekindle our faith

Omnipotent and great is the Almighty
His wisdom unsearchable and oh so lofty
His awesome creation speaks of his sovereignty
Indeed worthy of all praises, honour and glory.

He created man in his image with nobility
Gave him intellect and freedom to choose freely
Whether to pay allegiance to his majesty
or listen to the wiles of the cunning adversary.

Disobedience resulted to the doom of humanity
And plunged the world in grave moral depravity
But God in his infinite love and tender mercy
Gave his only son to redeem us from iniquity.

He desires that we learn of him each day
By studying his precious words earnestly
And by following his steps as he leads the way
We will grow in grace, wisdom and humility.

He wants that we prosper and live abundantly
As we adhere to his precepts with sincerity
To shun wanton pleasures and immorality
And draw near to him in close affinity.

But man is profligate, obstinate and unruly
Despite God’s ceaseless pleading or entreaty
Because pride, arrogance and self-sufficiency
Make him disregard the divine authority.

Thus God is waking us now from spiritual lethargy
With thundering voice reverberating ever so loudly
Scourging the land with famine and calamity
Shaking the earth we dwell in utter dismay.

Brothers and sisters how long will we tarry?
Our Heavenly Father is calling for you and me
To turn to him for he alone is able and worthy
To keep us steadfast til the great judgment day.

Soon in the blink of an eye the world will see
The coming of the King in splendor and glory
To meet the redeemed of his blood in Calvary
And reign with them throughout eternity.
