HONG KONG (SE): A Mass was organised by Caritas Hong Kong to mark the death anniversary of Bishop Michael Yeung Ming-cheung on January 3.
The Mass was celebrated by the chief executive of Carita,s Father Joseph Yim Tak-lung, together with other priests. Over 300 people, including the staff of Cartias as well as friends of the late bishop attended the Mass.
In his homily, Father Yim expressed his deep sadness over the loss of the bishop and reminded those present of Bishop Yeung’s concern about the least, the lost and the last, and his dream of establishing a Catholic university.
Father Yim incensed the picture of Bishop Yeung at the altar and led the congregation to bow before it.
Bishop Yeung took over John Cardinal Tong Hon as the bishop of Hong Kong on 1 August 2018. He passed away last year at the age of 73.
