How can I gain spiritual wisdom?

How can I gain spiritual wisdom?

It is helpful if we can attend more teaching programmes sponsored by the parish like Bible studies or seminars. Being attentive to homilies given during the Mass, reading books on spirituality and meditating on what we read are also important. The word of God is our compass and our strength specially in times of troubles. As our bodies need physical nourishment our soul needs spiritual nourishment as well. So let us work hard to gain more spiritual wisdom.

Spiritual wisdom is different from learning knowledge about the Church. One can know much about facts or principles, but they do not apply them to their lives. Spiritual wisdom can only be gained if we applied Church and Biblical principles to our lives and accumulated our experiences. It is not only about knowing what is good for us from God’s view, but about how to use such knowledge in our everyday lives.

W e can gain our spiritual knowledge by reading the Bible through the apps of our mobilephones. Working and being busy every day as a domestic worker, the apps can help us as they are user-friendly and convenient. We can search different apps for spiritual readings or the Bible verses that can bring us inspirations. It can guide us to remember God’s word. In every situation easy or difficult, God’s word is our spiritual nourishment. But the most important thing is don’t just read but work it out with faith.

We can spend more time in reading the Bible, praying, listening to worship songs and preachings. We should also avoid negative thoughts and choose the right friends that can influence and nurture our spiritual wisdom. We can watch videos that teach us about the life of the saints. It is hard if we experience difficulties but for me these are the verses I remember that help me to keep my faith. “My God will fully supply whatever you need, in accord with his glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (Phillipians 4:19); “For I know well the plans I have in mind for you—oracle of the Lord—plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope” (Jeremiah 29:11); “Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive” (Matthew 21:22).

Spiritual wisdom is found in the Bible. To gain spiritual wisdom, read his words. Never stop studying the scripture because no one can take hold all the depths of the holy words. For everything you learn from his words, absorb it with your heart and soul.  Wisdom is the ability to apply this knowledge through experience, without having to think about what you are doing. To obtain wisdom is to endure trials joyfully, see your need, know your God, and then ask him in faith to meet your need. Take note that when you read and learn the scripture’s words you may think you already gain wisdom but it is not if you have not yet applied it in your daily life.

Spiritual wisdom is a gift from God which we can always achieve and continue to gain in our daily lives through two things: prayers and scriptures. We should pray before reading the scriptures in order for us to understand the messages which we will share to others. The wisdom I get from scriptures is forgiveness and acceptance. When we forgive and accept, our hearts are healed from anger or evil desires and love will over power all negativity in our life. We should also practice what we learn and preach by sharing the words of God. To gain spiritual wisdom we should always put God’s words into our mind, mouth and heart.
