Hope

Hope is born of faith and flows from love
Love of God and trust in his promises
Trust in the future of a life built on faith
Faith in the mercy of God and his grace
Grace that will lead us to heaven above.

One leads to the other as you see
I’ve known of those who have died
Without knowing of God’s love
Giving up on hope
They didn’t understand
That God’s plan is really grand.

We hope because of our faith in God
Because of Jesus’ death on a cross
And his promise of eternal life
A miracle of grace won for us.

Hope is not easy to grasp
Unless you have faith in your heart
But we hope nevertheless
As our faith in God we confess.
Those who learn to cope
Know that this is the gift of hope.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not
on your own understanding
