Learning from the virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Learning from the virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Her selflessness…

The best one that I want to learn from of all her virtues is constant self-denial, which means being selfless. Like Mary, all of us here as overseas workers are selfless. It is a sacrifice for me to be away from my family just to give them a better life. I endured the longing to be with them to provide for their needs. We are all selfless in our own way, and being selfless is a very rewarding virtue and our own way of showing our love and care to our loved ones, friends, relatives, and our entire community.

Love and charity…

It’s the ardent love, it’s the love and charity… We saw how much love she gave to God and to others. At the Annunciation, when she said “YES”, Mary showed total and unreserved love for God. She showed love when she visited her cousin Elizabeth even though she was pregnant. She didn’t mind helping her cousin. This is what I want to imitate, because out of love for God, everything is easy to do for our neighbor, and out of love we are happy to serve.

Deep humility…

Her deep humility, her perfect obedience, her angelic sweetness, her constant prayer, her universal mortification, her spotless purity, her heroic patience, her heavenly wisdom, her self-sacrificing, courageous love for God, and above all, her faith. I am inspired by Mary’s love and faith. We should have a true devotion to her and entrust our lives to her motherly care.

Mary was truly humble because she gave God the glory for all that was good in her life. A truly humble soul refuses her own praise.

Her strong faith…

I want to imitate Mother Mary’s humility and unwavering faith. Despite challenges, she remained obedient to God’s will with grace and trust. Her quiet strength and compassion inspire me to live with love, patience, and selflessness.

Our loving Mother Mary waits patiently for us to listen and respond, praying as any good mother would for her children. She quietly suffered and patiently submited to God’s will while living in the midst of hardship and turmoil. Mary taught us how through patience we gain a greater love for Jesus Christ and for our neighbour.

Her prayerful life, because through prayer I can communicate with God; if I maintain constant communication with the Lord, I can deepen my faith and become closer to Him. Second, her deep humility, because being a humble person will show the presence of God in my life.

Cecille Gandol

I strive to be faithful like Mother Mary and to have a deeper connection with God and a compassionate view of others. By praying the Holy Rosary daily and incorporating reflection into my routine, it nourishes my deeper relationship with Mother Mary and inspires me in my journey of faithfulness. Mother Mary’s fidelity is an example of contemplation and transformation of life, a desire to understand God’s divine will.

The virtue of our Blessed Mother Mary that I love to learn from is her faithfullness. Even though she didn’t understand many things that happened in her life, especially when our Lord Jesus was born, she just kept it in her heart and remained faithful and obedient to God’s holy will. As a result, God did great things with her to bring salvation to mankind.
