HONG KONG (SE): Congratulations to Cardinal Stephen Chow S.J. on the first anniversary of his elevation to the cardinalate by Pope Francis during a consistory on 30 September 2023 at the Vatican. He was also made cardinal-priest of San Giovanni Battista de La Salle.

Cardinal Stephen is the eighth Chinese cardinal since Pius XII gave the first red hat to Thomas Cardinal Tien Ken-sin, SVD, in 1946.
