Picture Mary, a young mother, cradling her newborn son, Jesus, as she and Joseph fled their home. The journey to Egypt was not one of choice but of necessity, driven by the threat of violence. They travelled as refugees, seeking safety in a foreign land. Mary has indeed lived our migrant life way ahead of us.
Many of us have experienced this heart-wrenching decision to leave everything behind, driven by hope and the need to protect our loved ones. Imagine the fear Mary felt, the uncertainty of the road ahead. Yet, she pressed on, guided by a deep faith in God.
Mary’s journey reminds us that even in our most fearful moments, we are not alone. God walks with us, and his light guides our path, even when the way forward seems dark and uncertain.
