Qualities of my children that I value most

Qualities of my children that I value most

My son is the one who helps me a lot. He is currently working and have a stable job. If I’m the only one who is working, it is impossible for us to make both ends meet because I still have two college students and one in high school. My son didn’t plan to get married yet because he wanted to help his siblings to finish their studies first. I have a loving and responsible son and that make me proud of him.

Flor Bergunio

I have an autistic daughter and she is 18 years old. Despite the fact that she is a person with disability, she can do everything on her own. She can cook, clean the house and wash the clothes. She can even help her youngest sibling to dress up and be ready for school. She even prepares her snacks for recess. She helps a lot as if she is a normal person. I don’t mind what other people are saying about her. Instead of being ashamed of her disability, I am so proud of her.

As a mother, I am grateful to God for giving me a daughter who is God fearing, self supportive and industrious. Not only that, she also grew up to be an independent person because of my absence since I have to work abroad and her father is not also around to guide her. I consider my daughter my precious gem, and I will always be proud of all her achievements and to what she has become.

Elsie Caylan

Being an overseas worker, I have been away from my daughter when she was still very young. I was afraid, sad and felt guilty that I was not able to guide her or see her grow. But I am surprised that despite my absence she was reared to be a good person that she is now by her father and grandmother. She is very caring and loving also to animals. She easily gets along with others and knows how to show respect to other people regardless of their age but most importantly is that, she grows to be a God fearing person. And these are her good qualities aside from having good grades in her school, that make me proud of her. I pray that she will not change as she matures in age.

Alma DelosReyes Del Campo

I am so proud of my eldest daughter because she acts as a second mother to her siblings while I am away. She knows how to take good care and disciplines them. I can trust her fully with the money I have sent them. She is the one who budgets and do whatever needs to be done with all that concerns the education of her siblings. I have no worries and can work with peace knowing that I have a daughter who is very responsible.

I’m proud that my daughters are kind and have a heart for those who are less fortunate than they are. Those are qualities that I have always tried to imbibe in them since their childhood, since I know what it is like to go through difficult circumstances in life. I’m also proud of my daughters for remaining humble and down to earth despite their achievements. As a parent, I have always taught them to never forget where they came from and to remember those who helped them along the way.
