Oblates’ gather with the poor at Christmas

Father Mark Anthony Serna OMI

HONG KONG (SE): A Christmas gathering was held by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate at St. Eugene de Mazenod Oblate Primary School, To Kwa Wan, on 23 December 2022, for around 200 poor and needy people. The gathering was intended to share the joy and happiness that Christmas brings to us all. The true meaning of Christmas was manifested by the presence of some Oblates and over 50 young people who participated in the celebration.

Christmas carolling, games, and lucky draws were part of the simple yet joyful programme, and the usual Friday food distribution followed.

The Oblates extended their gratitude to St. Eugene de Mazenod Oblate Primary School for allowing them to use its beautiful venue and to Good Hope School and the members of the choir of the Church of St. Benedict for gracing the celebration with their Christmas songs and gifts to the needy.
