Let love be the reason

Let love be the reason

Sometimes life just makes us tired of being busy in so many things. But sometimes we just get tired of being unproductive.
We tend to focus about tomorrow. We stress ourselves thinking and worrying about the things that has not yet happened, dwelling in our problems, frustrations and hopelessness. We just forget to live and enjoy what life offers for today.

There were people out there struggling with their losses after the Super Typhoon Karding [Noru] struck the Philippines on September 25. Many were left homeless, losing their hard earned possessions and livelihoods. They were desperately in need of basic commodities. Their lives were miserable. Yet, they never lose hope no matter how hard life maybe for them.

Typhoon in the Philippines is happening every now and then and is never new to us as Filipinos. It seems that we are already used to this kind of catastrophe. But the damage and the mortality caused are still huge. When floodings and landslides are expected, we can prepare for it.

Five lives of rescuers have been sacrificed in their operations. They offered their lives in the name of love and service for others. And there may be other heroes who died while helping others whose works and deeds were not made known. We pray and salute them for their heroic acts.

On the other side of the story, the death of Queen Elizabeth II has made the whole world mourn. Her life as the longest living monarch was amazing. She is greatly loved all over the world without boundaries, race, colour, religion or dominion.

Queen Elizabeth had finished her meaningful live and is always remembered because of her works and deeds, mission and contributions to all. So even if our own time comes we may also serve the purpose of life to bless others and let love be the reason.

We pray that we may become channel of God’s grace especially those in need in any way we can. May God strenghtened our faith in times of problems and trials. May the victims of the different calamities find consolation and be sheltered in God’s love and care. May God spare our land and protect the people from the wrath of sufferings caused by natural and human-made catastrophies.

Lastly, may God welcome all the departed faithfuls into the promised paradise. Amen.
