Buffalo soldiers

Buffalo soldiers

We are soldiers in the
sugar cane fields and ricefields
Hungry nation will be fed by the produce we yield.
Towed by strong brutes, the buffaloes.
You will not like to be in our shoes.

Farmers who labours under the sun and the rain.
To ease humanity’s hunger pain.
We fight the harshness of the weather.
Tiredness to us doesn’t matter.

We are with nature in the early hours.
Even with drizzles from morning showers.
High noons when the heat of the sun is so intensed.
We just keep on working we never pretend.

Buffaloes are the extension of our arms.
Real strength in our labour.
Flicking them ropes that causes no harm.
They performed our needed favour.

We are farmers.

Buffalo soldiers.
Water buffaloes are our brothers.
In ricefields and sugarcane fields we are working together.

A call…

We do not need arms to fight injustices.
We are farmers that must not have prejudices.
We must labour to support life.
Let us not follow the footsteps of those who wanted strifes.

We plead support from our government.
Your lack of concern is a torment.
We hope and pray for
that needed support in the moment.
Assistance from you to us be sent.

We are water buffalo soldiers.
Buffaloes are our carabao brothers.
We promise to support our nation.
So we can maintain our food ration.
