HONG KONG (SE): On September 12, the Canossian Sisters anticipated the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows with joy and gratitude, with the celebration of the 60th anniversaries of entrance into religious life of Sister Theresa Chien, Sister Mary Ho, Sister Esther Ling and 50th anniversary of Sister Bernadette Lau.

The Mass was celebrated by Father Giorgio Pasini and concelebrated by Father Lawrence Yiu, Father Francis Tse and Father Jordan Zhang, at the Canossian Missions Chapel.  Around 200 participants, including sisters from the congregation, Lay Canossians, relatives and friends attended the celebration.

Father Pasini, in his homily remarked that the fidelity of God manifested in the greatest example of love: the Cross, was the reason of the celebration. After the creed, the four jubilarians renewed their forever yes to the Lord, vowing chastity, poverty and obedience.

On behalf of the jubilarians, Sister Ling delivered the vote of thanks exdpressing gratitude for God’s faithful love and for the many blessings bestowed through the loving care of their families, relatives and friends, and the fraternity experienced in the Canossian Family. All these are sources of strength and reasons of thanksgiving amid the difficulties and challenges of life.

The Canossian Sisters wish to thank those who joined in the celebration and ask for continued prayer for the grace of fidelity to their Canossian life—living in humility and charity like Mary, Mother of Love, at the foot of the Cross.
