As a child, my parents taught me about God and Jesus’ life and goodness. In kindergarten, I learned more about the good image of God through songs and rhymes as we followed the teacher who danced around with us. During elementary grades, my catechist helped to activate my faith. Through baptism and confirmation, I felt belonging to the vast family of God. I kept growing in knowledge and faith experiences in high school, where activities like bible class or religion class and attending Holy Mass were basic requirements. I thank the priests, nuns, teachers, seminarians, religious brothers and siblings who contributed to my spiritual growth. They all taught me the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus. I thank my aunt, who has been my spiritual mentor as she helped in my journey by constantly reminding me to stay close to Jesus in words and deeds in ministry as an altar server.

My first spiritual mentors as a child were my parents. They say education starts at home. Parents not only taught me to pray but also moulded me to be what I am today. They corrected me when I did wrong and encouraged me when I did something good. My school teachers were my mentors academically and in the formation of my Catholic faith. The priests I knew who answered my faith question were also my spiritual mentors.
Our heavenly Father sent people to us to evangelise us. I learned a lot also through the homilies during Mass. Our heavenly Father has given us beautiful instructions for restructuring our lives and putting together our best selves. Those instructions work regardless of our age or circumstances. He has not left us alone with all uncertainties. He has given us the priceless gift of the Holy Spirit, who is our personal, heavenly tutor as we study the Word of God.

My mother taught me and developed my love for God at a young age. She taught me how to pray. As an adult, I have to face difficulties in life alone. I believe that God’s Holy Spirit and Mercy are always with me through my prayers. So I am thankful to my mother for inculcating in me the Catholic faith.

Ineed to thank my family, especially my maternal grandparents. They were the ones who introduced me to God in my childhood. I would also like to thank my uncles and aunts because they introduced Christ at an early stage by letting
me join a religious organisation that has moulded me into who I am today. They guided me on the right path and made sure that

My spiritual mentors in my journey of life are my facilitators in the Elim community where I belong, Edna Nurial and Fina Glodo. I am very thankful to them because they are not just mentors but also my sisters and friends whom I can trust fully. I also need to thank the Elim Community because of the regular teachings they give, thus allowing us to grow more maturely in our faith.

The Word of God is my greatest mentor. Through reading the Bible, I have learned a lot. I would say that Jesus is my mentor in my life journey because he knows me and my needs better than anyone else. He taught me to be a good Samaritan to others. Through the Bible, I am able to pick up life lessons.

My journey with Jesus Christ has not been easy. There were lots of challenges that I encountered along the journey. There were times when I did not feel like going to church on Sundays, but God made a way. He sent people to touch my heart to remind me that I am nothing without him.
My spiritual mentor is our United Methodist Church pastor, who helped me learn more about Christ. He was there for me when I was at my lowest and when I was at my happiest. He corrected me and gave me advice whenever I did something wrong. He is my motivator, comforter and encourager. Without our pastor, I would not be who I am today. He is an instrument and a blessing to all of us in the church.
There are so many people whom I want to thank, but the one whom I really want to thank most is no other than God. There is no one like Jesus Christ. I could truly say that God is amazing in all his ways.
