I have overcome several trials since I came to Hong Kong in 2014, which have helped me become strong. I thought I met an excellent employer at first. However, I was mistreated, so I decided to break my contract and find a new employer.
I prayed to the Lord to guide me in my plan or decision. I placed my trust in him. And fortunately, my second employer was kind and treated me like a family. I have signed four contracts with her.
On 12 March 2018, I had ovary surgery because of a cyst I had never expected. I held tightly on my rosary before I was taken to the operating room. Fully surrendering my fate to the Lord, I muttered a prayer asking him to take care of me. The operation started at 7.00 pm then I woke up at 11.00 pm. First, I said thank you, Lord, that my operation was successful. I was confined at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan for a week. From that experience, I have learned to trust the Lord with all my heart.
I have a friend living in the same building where I live. She serves in St. Joseph’s Church, Central, and during one of our conversations, I asked her if I could join the Legion of Mary in her praesidium. She was happy to bring me along with her. Since I first met the members of the Immaculate Conception praesidium, I have been attending their meetings every Sunday. I started as a probationer, then became an active member and eventually became the president of my praesidium. I was grateful to our Lord God and Blessed Virgin Mary for giving me the strength to keep going.
I know nothing comes by coincidence, and Our Lord truly blesses me from the day he allowed me to step foot in Hong Kong.
