To get Covid-19 vaccines or not…

Ihave a social responsibility to protect myself and others from the virus of Covid-19 coronavirus. But I think to go for vaccine is another question because I have to consider my health condition. I must go for a thorough medical check up and I must tell my doctor about my past medical treatments as well as my allergies. I will decide whether I go for the vaccine or not after proper consultation with my doctor.

I  have taken the vaccination on March 18 with my wife. We are doing our part to curb the spread of the virus with a hope that our lives can go back to normal. We are both frontliners and we need to meet people. Therefore we need to be protected to have peace of mind. On top of it, we are doing this to fulfill the obligation as a good citizen.

Before we had our vaccinations, my wife and I consulted our doctors to make sure we are fit for the jabs. Trust the science and pray to God to keep us safe. The benefit outweighs the risk.

The Covid-19 coronavirus is the main problem of every country today. This brings so much inconveniences and troubles to our daily lives, our health most especially. We are already so desperate about what to do to avoid getting hit by this deadly virus. Our health is at stake here, thinking that as of this very moment no one knows when this pandemic will end. People were anxious as to when they could be vaccinated but now that the vaccine is already available, people are even more confused about what could be the result after the jab.

Honestly speaking, I am not against getting vaccinated and I pray for the health of those having received vaccination. But personally I prefer not to get it because I know my health condition and I don’t want to take the risk. Probably I will just have to be doubly cautious with my hygiene especially if I am outside.

I already took my vaccination and opted to use the Pfizer Biontech. I feel having my jab will not only protect myself but also the people around me. Vaccination is essential in preventing the risk of getting the disease. Some are confused and scared about the vaccines, partly because of the news of death of some elderly people. However the deaths may not be connected with the vaccines. That is why it is best to consult your doctors.

If my doctor permits me to have the vaccination, I will have it. If he says I am not advised to, then I don’t. I need to consult my doctor because I have a lot of health problems, for example, my thyroid problems, a bit of difficulty with my heart caused by my hyperthyroidism and I have chronic asthma as well!

At the moment I’m not sure what to do because I cannot book my appointment in hospital at this time. I am not worried though as I can wait for the right time for the procedure. I lift up everything to God in prayers as I wait for the doctor’s advice. After all the doctors know better and they took care of my health issues in the past. Meanwhile, I follow the basic ways of protecting myself and others by wearing face mask, social distancing, constant washing of hands and proper hygiene.

If you are in a good health condition, it would be good to have the vaccine for the peace of your mind as well as your protection too.

I will listen to the advice of the doctor after I undergo proper medical check up. The health authorities know better. It is true that prevention is better than cure. But I must consider the side effects and my health conditions. For me, there is no hurry. I understand the government’s plan to protect the people and prevent the risk of spreading the virus. I think one way of cooperating with the government is self discipline and self protection. In this way, we are protecting others as well.
