Fairy tale in a modern land, that’s how I describe my journey in this foreign land. Everything is new, everything is different but then I am so glad that all my first times were memorable. Thank you for always challenging me to improve and grow. You taught me to smile behind the negativity of life. I am wishing you a happy healthy New Year. May God fill your life with comfort, love and cheers. May this day and the days ahead hold more blessings and protection to you.

In my 19 years of employment with you my dear employer, I am so much indebted to you for your genuine concern, advice and instructions for my own good and improvement. You treat me not just as an employee but also a friend. When I was sick you cared for me like you would do to your elder sister. Your generosity was incomparable as you extended financial assistance when my daughter underwent gall bladder surgery. You are always ready to help me in times of need. Your genuine friendship shines as you bring me around visiting family members and friends, have fun together in shopping and eating out. Your showering of gifts to me is so heart warming as you want me to look good and comfortable like you do. These are only some of your many good deeds that I and my family are grateful of. I thank God for giving me you as my employer. May our good relationship continue to thrive. I pray that God will bless you with good health, long life as well as joy and peace in your heart. Have a prosperous New Year of the Ox.

My employer is very strict and meticulous in nature and shouts at me even for small mistakes. However I have the freedom to express my feelings reasonably and with humility. And she will understand the situation after my explanation. It took me 24 years of service to fully get used to her ways. I also admit that through this job I I have learned how to handle situations in a better way. Behind the strict ways of my employer is a kind and generous heart too. She extends financial assistance to me in times of need, gives me gifts of clothes and bags on special occasions.
This Chinese New Year, my message for my employer is to have prosperity, happiness and health. I also pray in a special way for her full recovery.

I am grateful for all the kindness of my employer’s family. In my 21 years of working with them, I feel like a grandma as their grandkids call me lola (grandmother). How fast time passes when one enjoys her work taking care of wonderful kids! Today these kids are parents of their own kids. I appreciate all of these experiences and lessons I learned from my employers. I am specially grateful for their kindness and generosity during the time of my sickness as they extended their support for my fast recovery. In return I am encouraged to serve them the best way I can by applying the lessons I learned. Thank you my dear employer for making me a part of your happy family. I wish you all good health, good fortune, peace and happiness with a cheerful Kung Hei Fat Choi.
