HONG KONG (SE): The Catholic Youth Action organised a fundraising walk on February 8, titled “Walkathon with Jesus and Youth.” The event aimed to raise awareness and support for youth formation and evangelisation initiatives, particularly in media and video projects.
Following a prayer led by spiritual advisors, Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Ha Chi-shing and vicar general Father Paul Kam Po-wai, approximately 65 participants set off from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Caine Road, at 3:00pm. Their journey concluded at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Kennedy Town, where they attended Mass at 4:30pm.

During the Mass, Father Kam reflected on the group’s mission since its establishment over a decade ago, emphasising its dedication to guiding young people in discovering their vocations. He highlighted that responding to one’s vocation is a process of making choices and reminded attendees that they are chosen by God to serve. He encouraged them to follow the example of Simon Peter, who, in response to Jesus’ call, left everything behind to become a fisher of people [Luke 5:11].
The group has produced various online video series addressing the daily challenges young people face, including work, interpersonal relationships, family dynamics, and faith. It also seeks to enhance its existing services to make parishes a strong foundation for youth faith development.
Joining the walk were Father Simon Wong, PIME Father Fabio Favata, and Precious Blood Sister Alexandra Cheung.
