The “hope” candle on the first Sunday of Advent symbolises the anticipation of the coming of Jesus and the hope he brings to the world. It is the assurance of God the Father that he will keep his promise on that first Christmas Day to send his only beloved Son to fulfil the salvation of mankind from sin.
My hope for this coming Advent is that every family may live in peace and harmony. May we all be blessed with good health and a long and fruitful life, and may our vision for our work, for our communities, for our children and for the world begin to be reflected with peace.

Advent is the preparation for the birth of Christ. It is a time of expectation and anticipation of the coming of our Saviour. A time of hope that the Father has sent his only Son, Jesus, to save us. To fulfil his promise of salvation.

I hope that all the challenges in my life will bring me a new beginning, new opportunities and a new journey to walk with Jesus. I pray that God will give me a forgiving heart to let go of all the pain and heartache I’ve experienced. Finally, I pray that the Lord God will guide me and my daughters through the hardships, obstacles and problems that we will face in the coming days of our lives.

My hopes for the coming Advent are for peace in my heart and in general aspects of my life, forgiveness for those who have wronged me and for myself for all the wrong things I’ve done, healing for all, especially those who have suffered much in life, for all the heartache I’ve been through, healing of my disappointment from the wrong choices I’ve made, and finally I hope for strength that comes from Jesus Christ, guidance to see the light.

Advent is the season of hope, peace and love. As it approaches, my hope for this season is to maintain love and understanding within my family. It has been many years since I have been able to celebrate with my family. For me it is not important to have a lot of food to celebrate, what is important is that we celebrate humbly with our Lord Jesus Christ who was born in a manger. In the hope that the true reason for the season will remain in our hearts.

As we prepare for the coming of Jesus, I hope that the war in some countries will end and that peace will reign on earth. I hope that all our brothers and sisters in Christ who have been severely affected by the typhoons will overcome all their difficulties in life so that they can feel joy in their hearts. I hope that we will all spread love because God is love. Let us all love one another as God has loved us.
