Seminar on healthy diet and work-life balance

A seminar under the title of “Nourish Your Body and Mind: The Dual Benefits of a Healthy Diet” was hosted by Peduli Kasih Hong Kong (Hong Kong Care and Charity) at the Ramayana Room of the Consulate General of The Republic of Indonesia in Hong Kong on October 13 with an aim to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy diet for both physical and mental well-being.

The event featured guest speaker, Doctor Willy Wong Chung-hin, a specialist in psychiatry who spoke about the importance of work-life balance and proper meals for migrant workers. He urged migrant workers to speak up about their needs for adequate nutrition and seek professional help when needed.

Kak Pandu, an Indonesian migrant domestic worker, then shared about her experience with breast cancer and the importance of a healthy diet for any health issues.

The event also included a storytelling photography and painting exhibition, which aimed to inspire attendees to strive for both physical and mental health.

With a total of 126 participants, including consulate representatives, Indonesian migrant workers, and local Hong Kong residents, the seminar served as a platform to connect different communities, raise awareness about migrant worker health, and encourage healthy lifestyle choices.  SE
