The sun always shines, even when it is behind the clouds. When a difficult situation comes into my life, my first remedy is to pray from the bottom of my heart. But apart from that, I humbly acknowledge the pain, suffering and discomfort it brings and take a deep breath and I always accept it rationally with a fine solution on it. In a difficult situation, I always put myself in a calm state of mind. I need to think deeply and positively organised every move and decision I make and most of all have love in everything I do. Believing that God will never abandon me in my difficult situation, he is my strength and my deliverance.

I accept and embrace the difficulties that come in my life as a challenge and an opportunity to improve myself and come out of my comfort zone. I ask God to increase my faith, hope and especially my love through the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the guidance and intercession of the Blessed Mother Mary. I think positively and I instill in my heart that God’s plan in my life is perfect and that he has a purpose for me. I thank God that I have survived these difficulties.

Warm hugs make me feel that the world is a better place in difficult moments. It is no shock that hugs make you feel accepted and loved. Luckily for us, both givers and receivers, there are many emotional benefits that come with such squeezes of affection. Hugs reduce loneliness, reduce anxiety, increase self-esteem, relieve tension and are simply the perfect way to show appreciation. So they are the best therapy for me.

Life is full of surprises. It’s hard when life takes an unexpected turn. When it feels impossible to accept a situation, I remember that I am not alone. Sometimes the first step is to acknowledge that the situation is out of our control. It’s OK to feel our emotions, whether it’s sadness, anger or frustration. We shouldn’t lie to ourselves about being happy when we’re not, or vice versa. Taking time to talk to a trusted friend or family member, or even seeking professional help, can also be incredibly helpful in dealing with difficult situations. Sometimes just accepting that we can’t change everything and focusing on what we can control can bring a sense of peace. So these are the things I do when I find it difficult to accept a situation in my life, apart from praying.

It is natural to have difficult experiences in life, but it all depends on how we accept them! In my case, I face many difficulties as I continue to breathe on this earth. I have a range of emotions when I face them. Sometimes there are situations that I cannot accept. But allowing myself to reflect and being self-aware of the situation helps me to accept and overcome my fears and worries and move forward in a healthy way. My great faith in God helps me a lot not to give up. I always keep myself strong and positive. Because I believe that “hardship often prepares the ordinary for an extraordinary destiny” (C.S. Lewis).

My best way to deal with difficult situations is to take care of my spirit by connecting with others, getting involved in the church community, enjoying and dedicating myself to serving the Lord, surrounding myself with positive people, practicing self-care, and most importantly, praying to God through the intercession of Mary because I know he will guide me in everything I do.
