Blood relic of St. Padre Pio in Hong Kong
The relic of St. Padre Pio is placed upon the heads of petitioners desiring healing, at St. Alfred's on August 25.

HONG KONG (SE) The National Shrine of Saint Padre Pio group held a series of Masses and healing liturgies in Hong Kong as part of their devotion promotion.

Targeting Filipino churches, the group performed services at St. Joseph’s Church, Garden Road, on August 22; the Diocesan Pastoral Centre for Migrants, Central on August 23;  St. Mary Church, Hung Hom on August 25 and St. Alfred’s Church, Tai Wai on the same day.

At St. Alfred’s, a Tagalog Mass was celebrated by Father Genrod O. Carreon and other priests of the community, followed by a healing session with the relic of St. Padre Pio, in which attendees could kiss the relic and receive anointing.   The event drew an estimated 500 attendees, primarily overseas Filipino workers, with a smaller number of Chinese parishioners.

The National Shrine of Saint Padre Pio, located in the Philippines, aims to spread devotion to the saint through outreach events.
