I have a habit of praying even when I am doing something, but sometimes when I don’t feel like praying or I forget, l would just recite the rosary or read religious articles. I thank him for all blessings received and will receive. They may be short prayers but I believe God sees what is in our heart and not the length of prayers or time.

There are times I am in a spiritual dryness and I find myself difficult to pray. I invoke the help of the Holy Spirit to guide me to restore my weak spirit so that I can be able to pray and continue my daily spiritual practices. Praying is important for this is our personal connection with God. Pray when the flesh is weak.

We cannot avoid to feel difficulty sometimes to pray or talk to God, speciallly if we are tired. What I do if I feel this way is just keep silent, put myself in a relaxed mood and with a soft background of worship music. I let my God talk to me. That way I feel relieved and comfort after the very challenging day of my work here in Hong Kong.

At times when I do not feel like praying, I ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten me. I would sometimes do my prayers in singing. Singing is twice a prayer. I ask for God’s forgiveness for times I neglect to connect to him. Gradually I come to a prayer mood and I continue to praise and worship the Lord.

I love to pray because if I don’t pray I feel empty and my day is incomplete. It is also my way of talking to God, the one who loves me the most. But if I feel lazy or too tired specially before sleep, I just say I love you Lord, thank you for your love. If it is daytime I assure myself to pray because it’s where I get my strength and guidance for my daily work. It is the only way that I can feel assured that I could always have a beautiful and blessed day.

In times that I don’t feel like praying, instead of saying prayer, I try to sing praises, while remembering how I’ve been blessed despite the daily challenges I encounter in my life.
