In what way are you active in ministry?

In what way are you active in ministry?

I like to go to church and participate in all the activities, especially with my service. I love most when I go to the Home of Love and help to cook and prepare food for the elderly and then play with the children when they are around. What I love most is when we pray the rosary. It brings me joy and a peaceful heart.

To participate in all the activities of the Church, especially in the spiritual formation organised by the parish and the community. This keeps me focused on reading the Words of God to deepen my faith. I must always remember God’s promises and I must also fulfil my promise to continue to love and serve him and to be a better person that God wants me to be.

For me, being an active lay person in our community has led me to change my spiritual journey. If we serve the Lord with fullness of joy and inner peace, we’ll be able to overcome all difficulties, knowing that the Lord Jesus and Mother Mary are with us in all circumstances. Being an active lay person in our parish means more than just attending Mass every Sunday; it also means going out and doing apostolate to proclaim the Good News to the faithful who can’t attend Mass regularly, doing outreach work such as visiting old people’s homes, visiting the sick in hospital and hoping to comfort them with prayer, giving catechism classes and organising religious programmes with the parish. In Matthew 6:33 “Set your heart first on the kingdom of God, and all these things will be given to you”. True spiritual growth happens when we become an active participant/member in worship rather than a passive follower.

I take an active part in the activities organised by our community. I pray the rosary, share the Gospel reflection in Lectio Divina. Doing Adoration and spreading the Good News to others.

I am involved in the music ministry in a way that we support the singing and worship of the congregation. Singing is double prayer, so when I sing, I pray.

I serve as a lector and commentator at CAFCG (Church of Annunciation Filipino Catholic Group) and I am grateful to the Triune God for leading me to actively serve him through this ministry and to proclaim his Word to the congregation. God has planted the seed of deeper faith in me through this ministry. Faith that will grow deeper through reading, contemplating and proclaiming his divine word to others.
