My love letter to God

I want to thank you for not giving up on me when I was tested in my faith and commitment to You. Thank you for sticking with me when I needed you most. I have been a devotee in a Catholic group here in Hong Kong for more than 20 years. 

Last year, an unexpected test came and I was so devastated. I felt hopeless and devalued. At first, I really struggled, but to no avail. I was filled with despair and the thought of leaving my Catholic faith haunted me. Will I stop going to church, where I spent most of my time every Sunday and feast day? At one point I was really struggling because things had really happened, so quickly, with the click of a finger. I was wronged. But God, thanks to those who know me better than my detractors, they have encouraged me to continue to serve you. You have given me wisdom and knowledge, guidance and blessings, and your love and care have sustained me. I now once again accept the gifts you’ve given me, Lord. Thank you for being my protector against my detractors. I am unworthy without you, my Lord and my God. Blessed be God forever.

Loving God, 

Thank you for always being with me. You have always been my silent listener. I never had to scream or cry out loud. You have heard things that I have sometimes only whispered in my mind. Thank you for hearing even the quietest prayers of my heart. As I move forward on the journey of my life, bless my endeavours and help me to spread love and positivity. Guide my steps and fill me with purpose.

To our Creator, 

To give us the grace of life is a blessing in itself. As I write this letter to you, I open my heart and mind to truly say what I feel. Each time I speak to you, I ask for your forgiveness, I thank you for the blessings you give, and I ask for your guidance in our daily lives. As I pray this to you, I also include all the people of the world in this letter, in the hope that their intercession will reach you. Lord, look after us, your children. By being your stewards, we will also take care of each other, so that we can reach the paradise we’ve all been praying for.

Dear God, 

Thank you for giving me a family that cares and loves me. Even though we don’t always agree on things that happen in our daily lives and we always fight about the silliest things, we still know in the back of our minds that we are blessed to have one another. We may not say it face to face, but I know we love one another so much. Thank you again for blessing me with such a wonderful treasure, “my family”. I love you Lord.

Merciful God, 

I am sorry for the way I have complained about my circumstances. Please forgive me for my bad attitude when things don’t go my way.

You have always been there when I need you. I may not talk to you every day and

I am quite irregular with my prayers, but every time I look for you, you make sure to make your presence felt. Thank you for not giving up on me. I know you have a better plan for my life and have already showered me with more blessings than I can count.

Dear Lord, 

You have always given me peace. When everything around me turned negative, I gained strength by thinking of You. Even two minutes of meditation helps me to get out of all the negative emotions and keep my peace. Thank you for keeping me positive and hopeful even in the most difficult situations of my life. I humbly admit that I am nothing without you in my life. Please do not let me be separated from you.
