We are fighting our individual battles each day
In the various spheres of life and of different intensity
While some contend with pride prejudice and vanity
Others are struggling with self- doubt and inferiority
In this modern world with a waning sense of morality
When the trending game is betrayal and infidelity
We need to fight for the principles of truth and integrity
And to value honor, human dignity and chastity
Many are battling with health issues and infirmity
While others are battered and suffering emotionally
Being mentally agitated and gripped with anxiety
And staggering from the heavy load they have to carry
Not a few are likewise struggling financially
Due to inflation, unemployment and ailing economy
These tough times call for prudence and humility
And to realise that God alone is our sufficiency
In the face of global problems and political instability
People are filled with apprehension and uncertainty
Despite concerted efforts for peace and security
Conflicts and armed struggle remain as a harsh reality.
Thus we must come before God in reverence and humility
And in submission let him fight our battles daily
By ourselves, we are feeble to face the adversary
But with strength from God we are assured of victory
