Jesus Christ: our hope of glory

The St. Jude’s English Community held its Easter Party on March 31, Easter Sunday, to remind members of of the hope for glory given by Jesus’ victory of death.

Members and friends gathered together in the North Point parish after the noon English Mass celebrated by Dominican Father Martin Bai for a Easter party under the theme of “Jesus Christ: Our Hope of Glory.”

An opening prayer and a welcoming address was given by Sister Regina Lito, pddm, spiritual adviser of the different parish groups. The programme opened with the St. Jude’s English Choir rendering the song “Easter Alleluia” after which was a drama re-enacting the scene of Mary Magdalene searching for the body of the risen Jesus by the Communicaton Ministry was played. Liturgical dances and native folk dances were performed by the different communities, including the Mary Queen of the Apostles and the 5pm Collectors, the Dance Group, Info Desk and Mission Team, the St. Jude’s English Choir and the Tagalog choir.

Camille Genio, Ivy Delgado, Generose Catalan and Jayma Jaycob gave the audience a surprise number with the English version of the song Anak (Child) with the accompaniment of guitar. They are the students of Maria Theresa Ablazo, who gave guitar lessons to them.

After a closing song “New Life” by St. Jude’s Tagalog Choir, a closing prayer was led by Father Albertus Suryadi, SCJ. SE
