Experiencing the Church of the Acts of the Apostles

From January 30 to February 4, 2024, the University Chinese Catholic Students Association, Taiwan, organised a six-day Youth Camp at Wenzao University in Gaoxiong. Around 50 vibrant youths aged 18 to 25 attended, among a total of 60 attendees. Bishop John Baptist Huang Min-cheng, O.F.M., of the Diocese of Tainan, celebrated the closing Mass on February 4.

During his homily, the preacher said, “In this humble chapel, an altar exists here on earth, while another resides in the expanse of heaven. In just moments, we shall lay eyes upon the Lamb of God, who stands simultaneously before us and in the heavens above.” Then, the priest asked the eager young participants, ‘How many of you join in this sacred Eucharist?’ They replied, ‘More than sixty.’ The priest grinned as he continued, “Do you count the legions of angels, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and countless saints among your ranks, too?

The camp began on January 29 with a Mass and prayer service, setting the stage for an extraordinary journey. On the first night, I heard one of the most beautiful renditions of the sequence to the Holy Spirit, Veni Sancte Spiritus, in Taize’s version. The following day, the participants began to arrive, and the atmosphere became even more uplifting.
