
HONG KONG (SE): At its annual general meeting on September 23, the Association of Major Superiors of Religious Women elected a new Executive Committee for a term running from 2023 to 2025. Sister Mary Lucy Chung of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows, was elected president; Sister Virgin Mary Tai of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, is first vice president; Sister Prisca Tsang of the Sisters of Announcers of the Lord, is second vice president; Precious Blood Sister Sister Agnes Au Yi Man is treasurer; and Sister Prisca Tsang of Sisters of Announcers of the Lord is secretary [Chinese] and Sister Carmela Pamei of Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate, PIME, is secretary [English].
Bishop Stephen Chow Sau Yan, sj, and Monsignor José Luis Diaz-Mariblanca Sánchez of the Holy See Study Mission, were invited to speak and to supervise the voting.
Association of Major Superiors of Religious Women is a permanent association established in accordance with Code of Canon Law 709 and directly subordinate to the Holy See.
Its purpose is to strengthen unity among all women religious orders in the Diocese of Hong Kong; to promote the comprehensive development of various congregations, so that each one can follow its constitution and spirit, as well as the Holy See and of the Diocese of Hong Kong in order to achieve greater apostolic effectivity.
