O Lord, there are many who are in need.
Some are lacking the basic essentials for life and health.
Please send them relief through the kind hands and hearts of those who are able to assist.
When so many have more than they need
and squander their gifts,
others are struggling to make ends meet.
Touch the hearts of those who are blessed with plenty,
to share with those who have little.
Open their eyes to see where the needs are,
because many are afraid or embarrassed to ask for help.
Making someone beg for help is demeaning,
especially when it is obvious there is a need to be addressed.
Some will remain silent and in need,
and so go without, when that is unnecessary.
O Lord, come to their assistance. Make haste to help them.
We ask this in Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen.
