Doctrine and sacraments keep Chinese Catholics in the faith

Under the motto, “Announcing the good news of the Lord’s salvation”, the event began with a solemn Eucharistic liturgy celebrated by Bishop Joseph Cai Bingrui, and attended by all the diocesan priests, nuns along with lay representatives of the parishes. 

The Diocesan Pastoral Care and Evangelisation Commission publicised the initiatives and appointments planned for the Year of Catechism, with the aim of walking together in faith and also recognising in the study of the Catechism a precious opportunity to proclaim the gospel.

In the liturgy all the participants passed through the holy door of the cathedral, symbolising the start of a shared journey, with each receiving a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

In recent days, in Tanghsan, hundreds of Catholics shared the various moments of the Eucharistic Congress, which was convened by the local ecclesial community.
