My reminders for job interviews

My reminders for job interviews

It is important to greet your employer first with a big smile to lighten up the mood as the first impression lasts. From one interview that I experienced, I learned that there should be a limitations to what I say. Unnecessary stories already happened in the past should not be mentioned if it brings no good.

As much as possible, present yourself naturally as who you are in real life.

Above all, ask God for his guidance and ask for his enlightenment which can help us a lot.

We must be honest in answering employer’s questions and in a polite manner. Avoid getting nervous so that the flow of the conversation will run smoothly.

I remember I was honest with the questions asked like what I am capable to do and what I can not do.

The important thing when I had my interview first was my appearance. We cannot go for an interview dressed improperly. The first impression that the employer will see is our appearance.

Be prepared, be professional and be yourself. I always use this golden rule every time I seek for a job though I was rejected twice by employers because of being overqualified for a job description due to my degree, skills and working experiences. But this rejections doesn’t stopped me to work abroad.

It is important to listen to the questions before we begin our answers, and be honest about what we are good at and what we cannot do. But don’t limit ourself, show interest in learning new things that will enhance our skills. Ask the employer about our duties so that we have a clear picture of what we need to do. In my last interview, I specifically requested that my holiday be on Sunday as I have a service in church.

Employer’s eyes are always on a trustworthy prospect helper, for being on time with your interview. If ever unexpected situations arise along the way to the interview, inform the prospect employer that you will be late but you are coming.
