I am not easily lured but sometimes there are moments when I cannot resist temptation because of human nature. I can fight temptation by a strong self discipline and self control. I can do this by constant practice and a strong determination of doing what is good and avoiding evil. Prayers help a lot also for without prayers we can easily fall into the prey of temptation.

No I’m not that easily lured by temptation. It depends upon the situation I have to think first if these things are for better or not and I have to see the possible consequences of both sides.
— Nancy Benedicto

As long as we live, we will experience temptation because it is inevitable even from the beginning of creation. In the Bible, we can read accounts of temptation in the lives of Bible characters. I am aware that I am also a subject to temptation. When being tempted, I will remind myself of how Jesus fought his temptations and I am encouraged to do the same. I also invoke God’s goodness and his mighty protection. There are times when I fall into the traps of temptation and have sinned against the Lord. Thus I make it a point to go to confession and ask for God’s merciful forgiveness.

To fight temptation, I listen to praise and worship music to divert my attention. When I listen to those songs especially when temptation lurks in and I feel down, those songs lift up my spirit and lighten my burdens and worries. It also gives me courage to fight the temptation, makes me stronger and hope for a better tomorrow.

Temptations abound us. We can fight all temptations first by avoiding it. Do not give attention to those who try to lure you into doing things like having affairs specially if you are married. We should focus on our goal, the reason why we came abroad to work. And stick to that goal.

There were times that I was easily tempted. Maybe, I didn’t think first of what will happen next but most of the time I say NO to temptation. Aside from praying and trusting the Lord, I have to think first of what consequences will happen if I yield to temptation. Is it good for me or for others? Can this lead me to other direction? If we encounter temptation think of it and most of all, pray and have trust in the Lord.

Temptations will always come in our life but we could avoid and we can fight it with greater determination. All of us are sinners and we need to accept that truth, but we have a choice to avoid committing sin by fighting against temptation. Away from my family as I encounter temptation, I always remember and believe that we have God who is always with us and we can’t hide anything from him. Remember the part of the prayer that Jesus taught us “lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil” (Matthew 6:13). Turning to God in repentance with faith is the best way to overcome temptation. Prayers are good weapons for it.

Everybody experiences temptation in one way or the other because Satan is doing everything to snatch people away from the hands of Jesus. He is doing it in a subtle way that you might not be aware that you are already committing a sin. Every time I am tempted to do something that is sinful, I will open my Bible and read all the passages about temptation especially the temptation of Jesus in the desert. I also listen to worship songs that deviate my attention from the temptation. I try to cast out Satan in the name of Jesus to get away from me. True enough, I successfully fight against it.
