In my family, it is not material things that they want to receive at Christmas. For 12 and a half years as an overseas worker, I have not celebrated Christmas with my family. It is a sad reality. I am a single mother of two children, and I raised them alone since their father passed away 14 years ago. This Christmas 2022 is another year that I cannot go home because of my work. I thank God that my family understands me. They appreciate me working hard for their future. It’s not easy for them to grow up without their parents but it is not a reason for giving up. To my family, I pray that someday we will celebrate Christmas together and I will never leave you anymore.

It’s a common feeling of being homesick, especially on Christmas time and other special occasions. Deep within I’m always longing to be home on Christmas. To be with the people whom I loved, my family.
