Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

“Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” [Isaiah 41:10]

Caritas-Hong Kong [Caritas] is going to celebrate its 70th Anniversary next year. Just as life undergoes stages of growth, Caritas has now reached its full-fledged maturity to making its way forward with wisdom, experience and faith. Along the way, we are grateful to have received support from various parties in the community. Their unwavering dedication, supervision and encouragement have made Caritas what it is today and laid a sound foundation for it to flourish tomorrow.

Following the example of our Lord Jesus Christ, Caritas fulfils its mission by uncovering and caring for the underlying needs of the poor and the weak through its services. His selfless love empowers us with inexhaustible strength to help people build their confidence and hold on to the promises of life. Caritas is also committed to rallying the efforts of all sectors of society for promoting interaction and mutual help. Together we live out the mission of love, give back to the community and strive for a better world.

“Walking through Challenges Together with Love”—Journeying through the lows, the way out will not be far away; after the storms, the sunshine and rainbows will be waiting to meet us. In God’s plan, everything happens for a reason and has meanings.

At the commencement of the Caritas Fund Raising Campaign, I would like to appeal to you for your support and participation so that Caritas can continue to play its role as “a servant and a prophet” of God in serving the community. No matter what challenges we face, God will always be by our side, giving us help and granting us grace to overcome obstacles.

More importantly, as we are blessed with God’s unconditional love, we should follow His example, and spread His love to affirm others and warm the hearts of many.

“Now I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another” [John 13:34].

With blessings and prayers,
