Stand firm in God’s love

“Behold new things have come” [2 Corinthians 5:17]

God is love, the relationships between God and each of us are unique love stories.  Solomon said: “Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it” [Song of Solomon 8:7], are we immersed in his love every moment?

First of all, let me describe my most beloved. Before I knew him, he already loved me, he always amkes the first move in the path of love. He lets me understand him before I decide to love Him. He has written me many love letters, which are found in the 73 books of the Bible. He revealed himself to show me his love and await my reaction. I fell in love with his teachings and actions, which align with my craving for truth, kindness, beauty, and love. I am stunned to learn that to prove hs love for me, he went to extend of enduring pain in the flesh and mind and even sacrificed himself to death. He has taken a lot of actions to prove his love to me. He said: “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” [Matthew 28:20]. He has expressed his desire that his heart and mine be joined together: “Remain in me, and I will remain in you” [John 15:4]. How sweet of him!

He is my most reliable lifetime companion. He knows my needs and accommodates my weaknesses and thus I can show hm my true self without reservation. He knows my limitations and he will stand by me throughout my life, not giving me up. He knows I have fear and he reminds me not to fear. However, my ignorance and limitations always make me put him behind my mind and he is hurt by me inadvertently. I feel ashamed but he forgives me again and again and from him, I am very blessed to understand what unconditional love is.

My most beloved Jesus Christ is my light. In him, I learnt truth, where I came from and where I will go to and how to live a meaningful life without being worn out by the secular world. God is my lantern, which guides me to understand myself and face my weaknesses. I accept his cure with blessed feelings and in him, I am reborn constantly.

God is my rescuer. Because God is the creator and leader of all things except for evil, I find security in him. I strongly believe whatever he allows to happen must have meaning. I do not need to know tomorrow holds because it is fine for God to know it and I will follow him. When I look back at the history of salvation, this rescuer is my yesterday, today and tomorrow.

How blessed to be able to unite with God. This allows us to be immersed in his love always. It is only when we do not only take but also give in a love relationship that we embrace happiness. 

Let us wholeheartedly connect with God to get to know his feelings towards us and bravely face all encounters. In this way, we can stand firm in God’s love and live everyday in peace and enjoy the peace and joy of Christians.
