SEOUL (SE): Parishes around the world participated in the World Youth Day on November 21, the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe.

The Archdiocese of Seoul expressed solidarity Pope Francis and the universal Church by organising a Holy Hour to celebrate God’s gift of young people, led by Archbishop-elect Peter Chung Soon-taick, the episcopal vicar for the Youth Ministry of the the archdiocese. It was attended by around 200 young people at Myeongdong.

In his homily, Archbishop-elect Chung urged the young people to constantly ask the Lord, who is present in the Eucharist, for the gracd to live life as witnesses to the faith.

“There is such strength and power when we pray together and follow and fulfill God’s will. The Holy Hour is a wonderful chance for each of us to ask the Lord what we can do and give to God. God is indeed coming. He is present and at work, aligning our thinking to his will. Let us meet Jesus during this Holy Hour, who is truly present in the Eucharist and loves us just the way we are.”

One participant, Justina Kim, was deeply inspired by the special hour commented, “Through the Eucharist, I had a chance to contemplate and learn about my true self. I now realise that Jesus has always watched over me with a smile, guiding me along the way.

“He transforms my life and brings me closer to our Creator and the life he wants for me. I feel more certain that the life of faith which was sometimes exhausting and burdensome will turn into the greatest joy of life.”
